A dense little jug with foliate relief doing most of the work. The form is rounded and domestic, but the moulding gives it more presence than plain utility ware would have had. This is the good middle ground in Beswick again: not a figurine, not flatly functional, but clearly made for use.

The interior carries staining from years of tea, which is record rather than fault and hardly touches the object as a thing to look at.
