Notes

Five bowls turned from Canadian maple by Baribocraft, a Montreal woodenware house that started in 1922 and spent half a century making the kind of honest tableware that outlasts everyone who used it. Each is lathe-turned, stained warm, and stamped underneath with the maker's name, so for once there is no guesswork. The mark says Baribocraft, Canada, and that settles it.

A matched set of five is the thing worth having. Singles drift apart over the decades and rarely find their way home, so a complete run that has stayed together this long is quietly uncommon. They want feeding with a little board oil and then a long second life holding everything from olives to keys.
