IKEA at its most ambitious. The GUBBO was Mia Lagerman's turn-of-the-millennium exercise in getting a sculptural, almost space-age lounge chair into flat-pack: a hemispherical shell that cradles you between two round cushions and spins a full turn on splayed metal legs. It was made for only a few years and quietly dropped, which is why the good ones now change hands as a collectible rather than a cast-off.

This is a matched pair, sympathetically brought back to life. The original cotton covers have been re-dyed a deep black, the legs touched up, and everything cleaned and checked. The clever bolt-together logic still reads: the back cushion fixes to the shell, the shell to the swivel plate, the legs splay from there, and it is genuinely comfortable to sit in. Some wear in the cotton has been discreetly back-patched and a little light wear remains here and there, but for their age both are in very good order.
