Notes

Raised by hand from a single sheet of copper, blow by blow, until a flat disc became a bowl that catches the light differently at every facet. This is Arts and Crafts metalwork doing what it set out to do around the turn of the last century, refusing the machine, leaving every hammer mark on show, insisting the maker's hand stay visible in the finished thing. It stands on three small feet and wears a rim of domed rivets set with panels of pale metal, the two-tone the period loved.

The panels are blank, so there is no guild name to hand you, and we will not pretend to one. What there is is the raising, which is good, and the patina, which is a century deep and not for cleaning off.
